Montreal-based software company PAD, which has its American headquarters based in the California Market Center, launched version 4.5 of its Master Pattern Design software with a party and an interactive presentation.
Among those in attendance were PAD's Kristine Gloviak, Nancy Escobedo and Patricia Alvarez; representatives of Bebe Stores Inc., Lip Service, M.L. Kishigo, Spencer Alexis Inc., Johnny Was Collection Inc. and Kandy Kiss of California Inc.; and students from California Design College, El Camino College and California State University, Northridge.
The interactive presentation, made possible by new technology from Lexington, Mass.-based Centra Software Inc., connected PAD's Jacynthe Brouillette in Canada to the audience in Los Angeles via a jumbo television monitor. Brouillette demonstrated the enw features of 4.5 and PAD's new Clone module, which allows designers to create and make changes to cloned patterns without having to retrace their steps. PAD's support team is also making the Centra service available to users so they can see online demonstrations and interact with PAD experts via headsets or chat boxes.
